Ben & Gina's Favorite Foods

Great food near the Hotel

BRIO Tuscan Grille

On the south side of the mall, BRIO is a traditional Italian place with good wine to boot.

Bucca di Beppo

Good pastas and pizzas and generous portions. What more could you ask for from an Italian place?

The Capital Grille

If you're looking for a steakhouse, look no further! The Capital grille impresses with both its service and its food.

D.O.C Wine Bar

If you love wine, scroll no more. You can sit at the bar and try some wines or grab a bite in the dining room.

Armand's Victory Tap

For the East coasters that need their thin-crust pizza fix, Armand's does a great job (although you'll never find true NY style pizza out here, trust me, we've tried.)

Portillo's

For a Chicago staple that's not pizza, try a Chicago style hot dog or an Italian beef sandwich. If you're new in town, G's order is "Italian beef, dipped" and B's order is "Chicago hot dog, everything". Now you sound like you know what you're talking about!

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria

If it's your first time in Chicago and you're cravng deep dish, Lou Malnati's is the way to go. There are plenty around the Chicagoland area so it's easy to stop there no matter where your plans take you!

Chicago's Finest Eateries

BIG & little's

There's 3 locations throughout Chicago here, so pick whichever is closest. These are juicy burgers and you'll wanna try the fries too. This was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives!

MingHin Cuisine (Dim Sum)

You just can't beat the price here. This is excellent Dim Sum (Gina likes Dim Sum now!) for usually under $20/person. We've done the one just north of Millenium Park, but there's also one in Naperville that's just as good!

Ghirardelli Chocolate & Sundaes

Not exactly a Chicago native, Ghirardelli is still the best ice cream you'll have. If you happen to find something better, TELL US IMMEDIATELY!

Au Cheval

Au Cheval has been consistently recommended to us but we've never been able to withstand the wait (Haymarket Pub is right across the street so we've ended up there). We still plan to try it soon!

Haymarket Pub & Brewery

This bar/restaurant does an excellent job of pairing beers with their food. You can try their brunch menu or their dinner menu, but no matter what you'll be impressed.

We have the best methods of getting downtown. Check out our local travel tips here!

Our Favorites in Naperville

Blue Sushi Sake Grill

We have an unhealthy obsession with this place. They have an amazing selection and we've ALWAYS had great food and a great experience. Try the Samurai Saketini if you go! Oh, and Hoover loves the treat dish they give him whenever he comes with!.

Schmaltz Deli

OMG is all we can think to say. Just try it. You'll love everything about it. Oh, and make sure you get the bagel chips with your order!

Modern Tavern at the Craftsman

Two Brothers is a local IL brewery that's growing fast in many directions. This coffee shop, café, restaurant, and bar opened up in early 2017 and we've been back a brunch. I mean bunch. But try the brunch.

Mesón Sabika

A restaurant that moved into an old mansion near downtown Naperville that serves spanish tapas! What could be better? Get the sangria flight, it's enough to share!

2 Fools Cider

This one's bring-your-own-food but the ciders made from Michigan apples is worth it!

Frost Gelato

Frost has so many gelato flavors to choose from and it's all so good! They'd also be happy to tell you how healthy it is!
